Households treat their pets as part of their family, thus, their health is always a primary thing to watch out for. These are creatures who cannot verbally say what they are feeling and the only thing that they are going to do is to give you signs. To make sure that your pets can be well taken-care of their health, learning when to seek help from a professional is a vital role for a fur parent in taking care of their fur babies. 

Here are the common signs and symptoms that a pet needs a medical help: 

Struggle in Breathing

If you can observe your pet having difficulty in breathing or gasping for air, better check the emergency vet for it might be some respiratory problems, allergic reactions, heart problems and other conditions that might lead to life-threatening concerns.

Severe injury 

If your pets encounter accidents better check your vet to make sure that the pet is doing fine, some trauma is not visible outside most of them needs to be checked thoroughly. Even slight accidents like falling from some heights, and even bite wounds for it can cause internal injuries. 

Bleeding

If your pet experiences bleeding from a wound and it manifests through his mouth, nose or any body part without stopping for more than 5 minutes can lead to blood loss or even death. So better if your pets are wounded, just better seek the vet right away before it’s too late. 

Loss Consciousness

This is common if your pets have seizures especially if it lasts for more than a few minutes or multiple in a short time – this is sometimes an indication for serious traumas, poisoning or brain problems.

Vomiting and Diarrhea

The most common and visible is when your pets are having diarrhea or vomiting. This is somewhat alarming especially if it contains blood and your pets refuse to eat the food – this can lead to dehydration or virus that might affect them if not treated timely. 

Toxic Substance Intake

Our pets usually play outside or even inside our house and sometimes we can overlook the things around them that might be dangerous if they get to consume it. Aside from that, some of the foods are not good for our pets – if these things happened, don’t hesitate to call the vet immediately.

The first thing as pet parents would do if an emergency arises is to stay calm, contact the nearest vet that you have in your list and follow their instructions, you can also call for assistance from anyone in your household to drive you there. Get ready your first kit if any or if  needed as per vet’s advice.
